MINA SHIREY
As Chief Financial Officer, Mina Shirey leads Blackwood’s strategic finance and financial operations. She serves as a translator between numbers and strategy, turning financial insight into actionable guidance that empowers divisional leaders and informs executive decision-making. Mina prioritizes resilience, accountability, and long-term value creation, establishing structures, policies, and reporting that allow the organization to scale while maintaining operational and financial rigor.
Mina joined Blackwood in 2024, bringing extensive experience as CFO and Interim CEO at QL2 Software, along with prior leadership roles at AOL, Millennial Media, Apple, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. She combines deep technical accounting expertise with a strong command of both quantitative and qualitative analysis, guiding teams through capital strategy, performance optimization, and complex organizational transformations across public, private, and private equity–backed companies.
In her role, Mina oversees all finance operations, including accounting, treasury, audit, and risk management, while ensuring policies, systems, and tools support accuracy, compliance, and scalability. She also drives financial strategy, evaluating investments, capital allocation, and M&A opportunities, while fostering a culture where divisional leaders act as accountable stewards of their budgets and margins. Mina holds an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and dual bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
